It’s Back! The Rodeo that is. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will take place through Sunday, March 22 with a wide variety of rodeo activities as well as many other fun events. Whether you are looking for traditional rodeo activities or something different, there is something for you.
There is much more to the rodeo than just the animals and daily shows. If you have never been, you will find lots of things to see and do everyday. Agventure is open daily with lots of different small animal experiences including touch tanks, a petting zoo, pony rides, animals on exhibit and a milking parlor. The carnival is open daily too with extended weekend hours for lots of family fun. The Junction will be open daily with events specifically for the kids. Exhibits include Fun on the Farm, Muttin Bustin, Pig Races and more. More than 300 food and shopping vendors will be present at the Rodeo. For fun, challenge yourself to try all eight of the award-winning dishes from the Gold Buckle Foodie awards.
Livestock competitions will take place beginning at 8:00 each morning. The schedule will vary each day but details are posted online. The Champion Wine Garden and the Hideout will be open daily with free live music and complientary wine and Jim Beam tastings on some days.
The main rodeo events will take place each day with lots of cash prizes. The main events will be at 6:45 on week nights and 3:45 on the weekends.
Daily concerts will take place with big names from all genres of music including Chance the Rapper, Cody Johnson, Lizzo, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Gwen Stefani, Khalid, Chris Stapleton, Marshmello, Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan. With that kind of lineup, you may want to go every day.
