Electronic Transactions

Things are changing

Our digital world has completely changed how we do real estate transactions.  But how does our information, financial, personal and other, stay safe as it races across the information highway?  Here’s how we protect your information:

Storage – Your electronic documents are stored securely on our local server and also backed up at an off-site location. Electronically sign documents are also housed in a “Tier IV, SSAE-16 Type II certified datacenter” through our electronic signature platform.

Transfer of data – All services employed by the Chris Wylie Team use SSL to keep your data secure.

Why go digital?

Speed – No waiting for documents to change hands physically.  Digital transactions can happen any time, day or night.

Accuracy – Errors in written documents can take ages to correct, often requiring resigning.  With electronic transactions, documents can often be regenerated and signed in minutes, even if an error is found.

Buyer potential – If an investor in another state or even country wants to buy your home, allowing digital signatures allows that buyer to sign from anywhere.

Earth-friendly – A real estate package can easily become hundreds of pages.  Electronic signatures minimize the environmental impact and electronic storage of documents is also a space-saver.

On the go – Electronic signature platforms are up to date with the latest technology and can even be used on mobile devices, from smart phones to tablets.  This makes electronic signatures an anywhere/any time concept.

Legally binding – There was a day when a faxed or emailed signature was not binding.  Those days have passed.  Transactions under the ” federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN)… may be denied legal effect merely because they are in electronic form.”
